Day After Day

Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is perishing,
yet the inward [man] is being renewed day by day.
~ 2 Corinthians 4:16 ~

I am 56 years old today. This earthen vessel is showing its age—it is cracking and chipping, but it is still useful.

I live with hope! Day after day, week after week, year after year, Jesus has been with me; I am not alone. I age and change, but He does not:  Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

It is encouraging to know that God is not hindered by my body’s age or changes as He renews my inner being. I am truly blessed and thankful to be His child. So, I bless the Lord with all my soul and bless His holy name.

My prayer is that He teach me to know how brief my life is so I may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12) and live my life for Him.

Twenty-two years ago, another important thing happened on my birthday, Don and I were engaged. I am thankful to have spent all these years with him, for he has taught me much about grace and mercy. We have a beautiful daughter who is growing in the grace of God and in whom we have delight (okay, not always, but in the big picture, she is delightful!).

A song came to mind when I started writing “Day after day…,” and I found it on YouTube! I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for spending time with me on my birthday. Lord bless you!
