Lord of Lords

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
~ Psalm 27:4 ~

There is something edifying about the fellowship of believers united in worship of our Lord Jesus Christ; for we are of one heart and of one Spirit. Our voices praise, bless, and worship Him through song, testimony, encouragement, praying, and loving each other.

Today:

A brother related what happened to him last week — he was deathly ill, but our God healed him.

Another told us he lost his job, but was thankful to our Lord for the fact that it came at the right moment; you see, his wife and grown children all have jobs now.

A family, a community of homeschoolers, is gathered for middle school graduation; yet it is also a time of grief for them. Earlier this week, one of their group, a 14-year-old vibrant and precious girl went home to Jesus suddenly.

Healing has happened in my heart, for instead of being glad about something I heard, I was saddened to hear it. Our Father’s chastening, while unpleasant, does result in good. “For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives” (Hebrews 12:6).

Our fellowship is having a beach day and baptism. Some of our congregation  are being baptized to affirm their belief and commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the first time our daughter has attended a beach baptism — one of her friends is being baptized.

This is the perspective from a song that kept going through my head, Lord of Lords:

Many people, many events; but one Lord over all.

All attention, all glory, all honor, and all praise belong to Him.

Whenever something happens to someone in the body of Christ, we are all moved in one way or another.

He desires us to know Him, to love Him, and walk with Him; and He has empowered us to do that through His Holy Spirit.

The most awesome things belong to Him, yet He desires that we, being His children, partake of those things.

There is no other God like Him; none!

Wherever you are and whatever you do today, praise Him; worship Him. Fix your eyes upon Jesus, and know that you are greatly loved. Behold His beauty and worship Him in spirit and in truth. Know that He is God and Creator over all.

Father, “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth” (Psalm 115:1).

Yes, Lord, “Blessing and honor and glory and power [Be] to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13b); in Jesus’ name, amen.
