The Glorious Story: The Babe

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and comes down from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
~ James 1:17 ~

When I wrote “The Glorious Story,” I saw that Christmas was not only the celebration of our Lord Jesus’ birth, but also His life and purpose. The poem includes His birth, His life, His victory, and His glorious return and reign. It is presented in four parts. Today, “The Babe,” in honor of His birth.

The Babe

From days of old,
Wonders told
The revealing of His glory,
This is His story.

A birth cry,
A mother’s sigh.
Tiny hands and feet,
A brow, a kiss so sweet.

Shepherds heard heav’n’s joy resound,
The news them did astound!
They came and hands did raise,
In worship, awe and praise.

Wise men saw His star,
Followed it afar.
The King of kings they sought,
And precious gifts brought.

A Babe in swaddling clothes—
To man no threat He posed.

The Lord bless your Christmas.

Father, thank You, for Your most precious gift, Your Son, Jesus, in whom You are glorified. Amen.
