The Glorious Story: The Victory

But He [was] wounded for our transgressions,
[He was] bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace [was] upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
~ Isaiah 53:5 ~

The years, it seems, are as a waterfall and cascade into each other so seamlessly, that over two thousand years have passed since the birth of our Savior, Jesus. His life culminated at Calvary when He became the perfect sacrifice on our behalf. His victory over death and sin still bring life those who choose Him. Today, His victory is spoken of in the “Glorious Story.”

The Victory

In days of old,
Wonders seen and told
Revealed to man His glory,
And His enduring story.

A mother’s cry,
A Son’s sigh.
Nail-pierced hands and feet,
A crown of thorns, not sweet.

They jeered and cheered,
They shocked and mocked
Him, taken down, laid to rest,
In sorrow some beat their chest.

The third day sun arose,
Disciples no longer morose!
He walked, talked, loved again,
In their sight, to heav’n did ascend.

The Son of Man His soul exposed—
To man no threat He posed.

Father, thank You for the gift of salvation and the blessings that come through Jesus’ birth and life. We cannot imagine salvation coming to us by any other means. In Jesus You are glorified, and in Him we are saved.

We await Your return, Lord Jesus. Amen.

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?
This [same] Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven,
will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
~ Acts 1:11 ~
