And when these things begin to come to pass,
then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
~ Luke 21:28 ~
There does not seem to be an end to most of the crises that are making the world dizzily spin. First there was the Mayan end of the world, which heightened fear in many people. Now the media is talking about the dairy cliff in addition to the fiscal cliff that adds to the crazy-making that is going on in Washington. When will it end?
The unknown future is unsettling to those who do not believe in, know, or trust God. But those of us who do believe in, know, and trust Him, can rest in His love and care because He has told us what is to come at the end. God has always been, is, and will be. He knows the beginning from the end. Life begins with Jesus, but never ends. The purpose of Christmas was fulfilled at Calvary; in His resurrection, a new beginning; and soon His return.
Today concludes “The Glorious Story” with “The End.”
Endures still the story,
Begun so long ago in glory.
The Son of Man will call us up,
And gloriously with Him we will sup!
For seven years travail on earth,
Mankind continuing in sin and mirth.
Victorious in death the faithful will be,
Yet from His wrath many will try to flee.
King of kings and Lord of lords,
From His mouth a double-edged sword!
Believers rejoice to see that day,
When Christ Jesus has His way.
Throughout eternity we will sing,
His praises evermore will ring!
The Beginning and the End,
Is our beloved Savior, Friend.
All mankind one day will bow,
Better that you do it now!
Accept, confess, Jesus as your Savior
Eternal life with Him you will savor.
Salvation has come to all peoples, tribes, and nations—
Come to Him! Come — and join the celebration!
We can rejoice in this:
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,
upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it
with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
~ Isaiah 9:6-7 ~
Father, You knew the condition of today’s world from the beginning and made a way for us to have Your peace and security. Thank You for sending Jesus to be born of a virgin, “under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Galations 4:4,5). You have been mindful of us and cared for us as no other can, thank You; in Jesus’ name, amen.
