Oh, the depth of the riches
both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments
and His ways past finding out!
~ Romans 11:33 ~
Have you ever felt small in light of who God is? It’s a humbling thing to know who we are in comparison to who He is—He is God, and we are not. (Isn’t it amazing that we have to keep reminding ourselves that we’re not God?)
Jesus is life. He gave us life at the expense of His. He conquered death for us. He is preparing a place for us. He knows us and still loves us.
Look at who He is:
He can hold the waters of the earth in His hand, and measures heaven with the span of His hand (Isaiah 40:12). Look at your hand. How much can it hold? How big is its span?
In Isaiah 40:21-23, 25-26, God says of Himself:
Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
He brings the princes to nothing;
He makes the judges of the earth useless. . . .
“To whom then will you liken Me,
Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high,
And see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host by number;
He calls them all by name,
By the greatness of His might
And the strength of His power;
Not one is missing.
There is none like Him!
Jesus is life; if you don’t know Him, all you have to do is believe in Him and you will be saved. “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). No one else can love you as He does. In the name of Jesus, amen.
