The Foolishness of the Cross

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
~ 1 Corinthians 1:18 ~

This question came up when I was working on my evening Bible study assignment:

“Recall a time when the message of the cross was foolishness to you. Contrast that time in your life with the assurance you have today that is the power of God.”

This is my very brief answer:

"I know a place, a wonderful place where accused and condemned find mercy and grace..."

“I know a place, a wonderful place
where accused and condemned find mercy and grace…”

Father, the cross was once foolishness to me, but now it means life. And that life is found in Your Son, Jesus, who willingly gave His life and paid the redemption price for our souls. One day, soon, we will join with all our brethren and sing, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:12). Amen.
