A Psalm of Thanksgiving

Today’s post begins differently because the day has been, well, different. We are going through some difficulties, but the one thing that has remained constant is our Lord’s presence. His faithfulness does not cease to amaze us, even as we patiently and expectantly wait for His provision.

This morning I felt drawn to Psalm 100. After I read it for Noah and myself, I walked into the kitchen. There He gave me a new song to sing based on this Psalm. (I cannot remember it now, even after singing it over and over again. This happens when He gives me a new song to sing; it is only for the moment, yet it glorifies Him and edifies me.)

I encourage you, whatever your situation may be, to offer up to Him a song of thanksgiving, or ask Him to give you one, and let your soul take its rest in the Lord (Psalm 62:5-8).

A Song of Praise for the Lord’s Faithfulness to His People

A Psalm of Thanksgiving.

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

Blessed are You, O Lord, who hears the cry of His children and answers them with lovingkindness. Our souls find rest in You, for You have been good to us! (Psalm 116:7) Amen.

P.S. I previewed this post and noticed the sheep grazing on the left side of the banner image; not an irony, just humor—we truly are the sheep of His pasture!
